Everybody talks about meditation. Trainers and spiritual gurus, both online and offline, are all attempting to transform themselves and others (hopefully). There are papers discussing the therapeutic applications of meditation. However, many people remain confused about which meditation technique they should follow. Which meditation gives me faster results? How can I become rich doing meditation? Endless questions.

I am practicing meditation regularly. Five to ten minutes is enough for me. Everybody wants a quiet mind. Meditation may help you. Sometimes it may not. not. not. It’s not a panacea for all problems—physiological and psychological. Firstly, you should determine whether you need it. If you feel it is beneficial, just try it. Meditation is like vertical sleep to many people! Actual meditation is not sleep, but you may experience a sensation similar to sleeping or a more relaxed state. The experience of meditation is individual.

Let’s check whether you need meditation. The answer is that if you believe meditation is beneficial, then you should pursue it. The next point of confusion pertains to the rituals one must adhere to prior to initiating meditation. Nothing. Just sit comfortably and simply watch your breath. Avoid taking deep breaths, counting your exhalations, chanting, or using any other jargon. It may be boring, or you can still continue. Thoughts will inevitably arise; this is the nature of the mind. Just be aware of your thoughts; don’t judge them… m.m. You will eventually notice that your thoughts are decreasing, and you will enter a thoughtless state, even if only for a moment. You can stop meditation at any time. Please consult your healthcare provider if you are taking any type of medication.

Meditation is not a panacea. Not everybody is fit for meditation. If you have any problems related to your mind, consult a therapist instead of doing meditation. There is nothing unusual about meditation. It is a natural, spontaneous process. Meditation happens, not created. What we can do is create certain situations that are likely to lead to a meditative state for individuals.

How long should I remain in meditation? The duration of your meditation session is entirely up to you. You can decide. Researchers from all over the world are conducting numerous scientific studies on meditation. You can experience the benefits of meditation when it becomes a part of your routine. There is no definitive timeframe for achieving results from meditation. 21 days, 30 days, and 66 days are all mere speculations. It’s an individual experience. Meditation is not a tool to collect from outside; it’s an inherent property within us.
